How to Lace New Balance Shoes

The New Balance shoe company is the only athletic shoe maker that is still manufacturing shoes in the U.S, according to the company website. New Balance offers men's, women's and kids' athletic shoes for a variety of activities including running, walking, baseball, football, tennis, yoga and cross-training. Lacing the shoe correctly is important to help the shoe fit well and feel comfortable.

Instructions

Run the laces straight across at the top of the shoe (toe end) so that the laces touch the eyelets. Tuck the laces into the eyelets and pull to straighten. Straighten the lace until the hanging ends are of equal length.

Cross the laces inside to form an "X" and pull the laces up through the next set of eyelets.

Tighten the laces slightly by pulling on them and ensure they are of equal length. Cross the laces on top to form an "X" and push the laces through the next set of eyelets.

Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you reach the final set of eyelets near the top of the shoe tongue.

Choose the final eyelets, depending on if you wish to have a tighter fit around the ankle or not. If you desire a tighter fit, thread the laces through the eyelets that are higher and closer to the top of the shoe. If you wish a looser fit, thread the laces through the lower set of eyelets. Tie to close.
