History of Rainbow Sandals

Because Longley was a surfer and beach lover himself, he knew exactly what was needed to make a great sandal. Durability, comfort, and flexibility were the driving forces in his creation. By using different forms of leather, Malaysian rubber and hemp, Rainbows were able to conform to individuals' feet like a second skin.

In addition to his passion driving the success of the company, Longley used premium products to create the durability and quality guarantee on his sandals. By using triple layers of glue to bind the soles and 2,000-pound nylon tested webbing to prevent breakage, Longley created a shoe that was made to stick to your feet through sand, mud or water.

Rainbows have grown from their six-a-day production line to demand of 5,000 pairs per day. Although the success did not happen overnight, Longley kept reinventing his styles and innovations until the shoe finally caught a wave into the mainstream market.
