How to Make Custom Converse

The Converse shoe company released a catalog in 1913 stating, "Our company was organized in 1908 fully believing that there was an earnest demand from the retail shoe dealer for a rubber shoe company that would be independent enough not to follow every other company in every thing they do., according to Converse.com. The company's mission was to create a shoe for leaders, not followers. Since then, this company has collaborated with rock legends such as Ozzy Osbourne and Pink Floyd to produce shoes. Converse has a website that allows the leader in you to create your own custom Converse.

Instructions

Go to Converse.com on your computer.

Click the "Make" tab at the top of the page. Click "Start an original". Select "Mens", "Womens," or "Kids" to start the custom shoe process. Choose "All" to see all three of these sections at once.

Choose the type of shoe you would like for the base of your custom Converse. You can choose from All Stars, skate, running or court. Select the style of shoe you would like. Choose from lowtops, slip ons, high tops, and or extra high top. Select the material of the shoe from the choices of canvas, suede and leather. Pick the result of the blank shoe that you like best and click on it.

Scroll over the shoe and click to select a section of the shoe. For example, click on the center of the side view of the shoe to choose the outside body of the shoe. From the pop up menu, choose a color or print for the base of your custom Converse. Converse offers 22 colors for the custom shoe and different prints, like skulls and peacock feather, are available.

Continue with this process by clicking on each part of the shoe. Choose the color of the laces, rubber sole, tongue, stitching, and inner lining. Reference the box in the upper right hand corner that shows your progress and alerts you if you have missed a part of the shoe.

Add your personal ID by choosing the location of the heel stripe or the side of the shoe. A personal ID is custom text, like a nickname or jersey number, printed on the shoe. Uncheck the personal ID box in the pop up box if do not want this option. Enter a maximum of 12 characters for your personal ID and choose the font and color.

Check the progress box to ensure that it reads 10/10. This means that the shoe is completed. The system will not allow you to proceed until the shoe is complete. Under the 10/10, select the size button. Choose the gender, size and how many pairs of your custom shoe. Click "Add to Cart" and confirm your design.

Fill in your shipping and billing information in the fields. Click "Continue". Select your shipping preference and click "Continue". Review your order to ensure all of the details are correct and confirm. Print out the confirmation.
