UGG boots are warm, comfortable and stylish. Australians wore this style of footwear before it showed up in the United States. Now people from many walks of life wear them.

At one time, mostly surfers in Australia wore UGG-style boots.

UGG boots, which are sold by an Australian company of the same name, are made of 100 percent merino sheepskin. With their fleece lining, they will keep your feet warm and dry.

At one time, mostly Australian surfers wore UGG-style boots. They kept the surfers' feet warm when they would catch the waves early in the morning, when the water is cold.

In 1978, Australian Brian Smith moved to California and introduced surfers there to the style of boot. Soon the UGG brand began to take its first steps.

UGG boots began to grow in popularity after celebrities in the United States started wearing them. Now they are a hit among many non-celebrities, too.

Deckers Outdoor Corporation bought UGG Australia in 1995. Despite its beginning on the beaches of Australia and California, UGG markets its boots as a luxury brand.
