How to Get Rid of Alcohol on Leather Boots

How to Get Rid of Alcohol on Leather Boots

A night on the town is great for your social life, but can be rough on leather boots. An alcohol spill that lands on your boots is quickly absorbed, leaving a stain and odor. You don't have to let an alcohol stain ruin your leather boots. When you treat the stain with supplies safe for leather, you can get rid of the alcohol and accompanying odor to return your boots to ready-to-wear condition.

Instructions

Apply a pea-sized amount of white toothpaste to a damp toothbrush. Gently scrub the alcohol-stained area of your leather boots with the toothpaste.

    3

Dampen a clean cloth with water. Wipe the surface of your leather boots to remove the toothpaste.

    4

Pour full-strength white vinegar onto a clean cloth. Wring out the cloth to remove excess moisture.

    5

Wipe the surface of your leather boots from seam to seam, covering the entire leather surface. Wiping the entire boot prevents variation in color of the leather in one area due to moisture from cleaning.

    6

Dry the leather with a clean cloth. Allow your boots to air-dry.

    7

Rub leather moisturizer into your boots with a dry cloth. Allow the moisturizer to soak into the leather for 20 minutes. Wipe off excess moisturizer with another cloth.
