Rubber boots come in many different colors and patterns, but with a stencil, you can put original designs on yours. Make a stencil for a pattern that runs along the boot shaft, or create an allover pattern. You can also use multiple stencils to create a more complex pattern. The stencil paper or acetate you use should be flexible, because it needs to lie flat against the boot to create a successful design. Larger designs are easier to stencil than very detailed ones.
Instructions

Draw or photocopy the design on a sheet of white paper. Use the masking tape to tape all four sides of the paper to the cutting board.
2Cut a sheet of acetate 1/2 inch larger than the paper with the design. Center the sheet of acetate on top of the design paper, and tape all four sides to the cutting board.
3Cut the stencil, using the metal ruler to guide the precision knife along straight lines of the design and the French curve for any curved areas.
