How to Determine a Correct Woman's Shoe Size ~ Women Shoes Advisory

Women's shoes come in every style and size imaginable and can be purchased everywhere from general retail stores to high-end luxury stores. However, women's shoe sizes can differ from brand to brand, as well as from store to store. It is, therefore, advisable to correctly determine a woman's shoe size in order to find the right fit when purchasing new shoes.

Instructions

Measure feet later in the day, when they tend to be the most swollen and, therefore, at their largest size.

Measure both feet, and use the measurement for the larger foot when buying or ordering shoes. This will ensure the most comfortable fit.

Sit on a chair with bare feet resting on a clean piece of paper on the floor. Sit far enough forward so that the feet are flat against the paper.

Trace both feet with the pencil pressed firmly against the paper at all times. Keep the pencil vertical as you trace to get the pencil tip as close to the feet as possible. You may wish to have someone help you with this step.

Measure the length of the foot on the tracing, starting at the very top of the foot and extending to the very bottom. Measure the width from the widest point on each side of the foot. Write down these measurements.

Subtract 5 mm (0.2 inches), which accounts for the thickness of the pencil, from the width and length measurements.

Use the adjusted measurements to find the correct shoe size. This can be done at most shoe stores or online at websites such as Boot.com or i18nguy.com.
